Gallus Group once again wins the Family Friendly Company Award 2020.

At the Family Friendly Company online awards ceremony, Katalin Novák, Minister without Portfolio for Families and patron of the event, spoke about the challenges that families and companies have faced in recent times. As she said, families are always flexible, they have to be flexible, as family members have to help each other in the most diverse situations. It is this flexibility that domestic companies must be able to adapt to in changing circumstances. Family-friendly companies are run by managers who feel this responsibility, because they know that by being family-friendly, their employees are more engaged.

The Gallus Group’s aim is to establish a FAMILY-FRIENDLY approach in the Group, in other words, to achieve a work-life balance. To this end, the company has successfully implemented a number of initiatives in recent years, and its management is committed to maintaining and developing them:

„For more than 5 years, mothers with young children have been able to work on a flexible working schedule. The introduction of a 6-hour-a-day, part-time, so-called “maternity” shift was also awarded a special prize in the Family Friendly Company competition in 2016.

Since 2017, we have been running the Fit Generation Public Interest Retirement Cooperative, which now employs 69 retired workers on a part-time or full-time basis.

However, we also pay particular attention to ensuring that new recruits are effective, feel comfortable and enjoy a welcoming and supportive environment. We have also developed a detailed programme for the recruitment and integration of staff with special needs. As a sign of the success of the programme, we currently have 49 employees with disabilities working in our Group and we were awarded the Gold Degree in Disability Friendly Workplace in 2018 for our inclusive environment.

We try to facilitate work-life balance by offering 8 company bus shuttles, accommodation in some cases and, in a positive departure from the law, a much more flexible leave scheme.

The Group’s flexible approach, empathetic atmosphere and sense of belonging to the Gallus community are important to us.” – said Ervin László, Group HR Manager.
